Chelsea Handler is admittedly funny, but she’s not looking to upset her close friends by joking about them during her comedic routines. She’s a good friend, and if something upsets a very private celebrity friend, she won’t talk about it. Additionally, the comedian says that if one of her celebrity friends is very private, she simply will not talk about them at all during her shows or routines because she’s a good friend who respects what her friends and family find too much.
However, she does say that one friend is a bit difficult – a challenge, if you will. Handler is good friends with actress Jennifer Aniston, and she just opened up about how difficult it is to be good friends with the actress, and that she’s just not easy to be friends with.
“Everywhere I go, people ask me about Jennifer Aniston’s wedding. Do you know what it’s like to walk down a red carpet and reporters go, ‘When are Jen and Justin getting married?’ like I’m in charge of that,” she jokes to reporters. She goes on to say that she told her friend that “being friends with you is a burden.”
Handler continues to joke that her longtime friend is a great one, but that Aniston’s friends seem to have decided that Handler is her personal secretary and/or public spokesperson, and that anything they want to know about the actress is directed to her for comment and confirmation.
She then goes on to say she just doesn’t know, and that if she did she wouldn’t tell. “I wouldn’t screw you over, I just wouldn’t do that,” she says of being good friends with some certain celebrities. I guess it turns out that even being a comedian who could get great ratings with some of the information she has isn’t as important to her as being a good friend – good for you Chelsea Handler.
